Every year the Gentlemen’s Expo comes to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and every year they give us girls a major FOMO.
Though I don’t shy away from hyper femininity, I cannot resist a good Scotch sampling sesh, hamburgers, the smell of cigars, and I’m drawn to a good tailored suite like a moth to a flame. It goes without saying that I’m very excited to be attending this year’s Gentlemen’s Expo, maybe too excited.
Here’s a round up of what’s happening this weekend!
Drinks and Food
Glenmorangie will be schooling us all on Scotch 101. There is also a Gentlemen’s Guide to Scotch which I presume will include samplings…
Meet your fellow Guiness drinkers at the Gentlemen’s Guide to Guiness. Roger Mittag will be sharing his Guiness knowledge and will also be hosting 3 classes over the weekend.
Sylvain Bouchard will be your guide to Beer just like Gandalf to middle earth. He will be hosting 3 sessions of the Gentlemen’s Guide to Beer all weekend.
There is also a bunch of Beer talk happening all throughout the weekend that includes a session on best food to pair with beer. All we know is that it’s going to be awesome.
Why are cigars so attractive? I don’t know the answer to that but if you would like to get up close and personal to some and also learn more about how to properly smoke and store them – go see Joe Bondi on Saturday for the Gentlemen’s Guide to Cigars!
It’s not that popular but it certainly should be – most Male-centric expos are geared towards drinking and eating huge slabs of meat but we think the Gentlemen’s Guide to Eating Fresh is a great idea! Check out Ruth Tal, Founder of Fresh Restaurants and Juice Bars talk about how guys can incorporate a healthy diet into their lifestyles on Saturday and Sunday!
Style and Grooming
Some boys love drinking, we get it. But Gentlemen are known for their unparalleled style and grooming. If you think you need some tips, Daniel Fancoeur from Bode Spa will be in the premises for The Gentlemen’s Guide to Grooming on Friday and Saturday to distribute some tips and tricks!
A Gentleman is not without impeccable style and fret not, that’s covered as well. Sytlist and Designer Kish from Kish Style will be spreading seeds of style when it comes to travelling on The Gentlemen’s Guide to Travelling in Style on the main stage on Saturday!
Sex and Dating
Shanny in the City and View the Vibe’s Nicki Laborie will be hosting Sex and the 6ix Dating Dish on Saturday . Forget Tinder, Bumble, and whatever apps you’ve been using. The lucky couple will be heading to dinner provided by Sex and the 6ix!
Toronto based Sexologist, Dr. Jess will be in the premises to give some advice and tips on you know…cuddling. The Gentlemen’s Guide to Sex will be held at the main stage on Friday!
Other Fun Stuff
KPMG, MARS Discovery Centre, and The Gentlemen’s Expo will be hosting Start Me Up! Four of Toronto’s brightest Start up companies will be pitching to a panel of judges. It’s like Dragon’s Den except with heckling. Just kidding, only yell positive things like, “You rock! Great Idea!” We’re polite Canadians after all.
Here’s a list of the participants:
Young Empires will be closing the show with a performance on Friday! Don’t miss it – we wont!
All of these and a super long list of EXHIBITORS. Don’t let the boys have all the fun. Head over to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and come say hi! You’ll probably find us near the Scotch sampling stand – just a disclaimer.
