These apples topped with creamy raw almond butter, pecans and sesame seeds are the perfect raw vegan mid-afternoon pick me up! I love the flavour combination of almond, pecans and sesame seeds. This snack is very filling and easy to make, especially when you’re short on time!
Apples are not as basic as you may think. They are rich in pectin, which fills you up, helps the body detox, and even lowers cholesterol! Apple skins also contain the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory pigment quercetin, which is an anti-cancer and anti-aging compound and a natural antihistamine.*
You will need:
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 – 2 tbsp raw almond butter
- 1 – 2 tsp raw pecans, chopped
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- ground cinnamon, to taste
(Use organic ingredients)
Arrange apple slices on your favourite serving dish. Top with almond butter. Sprinkle with pecans, sesame seeds and cinnamon.
